Barolo DOCG Marcenasco Renato Ratti 1983
The wine
Produced from the Nebbiolo grape, as stipulated under the appellation's rules, this Barolo has a garnet-red visual aspect and an intense bouquet of licorice and tobacco. The robust, elegant palate is a demonstration of this wine's excellent potential for keeping, enabling divine pairings with high-quality meat and cheeses of character. To produce this wine, the domain harvests the grapes at optimum maturity, destems and crushes them, and performs fermentation at a controlled temperature, 10 days of maceration and two years' élevage in barrels.
