Alsace | 2000 vintage
A good vintage with some exceptional Rieslings. This vintage was earlier than those of the last 50 years thanks to a hot and sunny spring. A number of storms and an unusual amount of rain during the summer months made conditions difficult for the wine-producers. The Reisling is superb with a good level of acidity to match its concentration. The Gewurztraminers are more heterogeneous. The high level of acidity will allow these wines to be cellared for many years. The sweet wines are also superb. The Vendanges Tardives (late harvests) and Sélections de Grains Nobles (Noble Berry Selections) reveal a great richness.
