Lot presentation

Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2000

The wine

The red wines show great finesse, with a rather tannic, but also very supple character. Always very well-balanced, they reach their full potential after a few years in the cellar.

About the Producer Château Larrivet Haut-Brion

The property's name reflects the numerous changes that have taken place over the course of the past two centuries. Initially entitled Château de Canolle, then La Rivette, it took the name of Château Haut-Brion-Larrivet in 1874.
The property belonged successively to a Bordeaux merchant, and then to some true Bordeaux lovers, the sons of Théodore Conseil, who developed the estate. At that time there were 50 hectares of vines. In the 1930s, suffering from the effects of the economic crisis, production was almost wiped out. In 1949, it took its current name, Château Larrivet Haut-Brion, and it was thanks to Christine and Philippe Gervoson that the property was restored, with the repurchase of the original plots. Following substantial investment, the wines' quality was gradually re-established. Since 1996, it has seen a succession of fine vintages that give full expression to the terroir: Larrivet Haut-Brion's vineyard is planted on clay soil consisting of sand and iron-rich clay.
The property has been managed by Charlotte Mignon since 2025, who arrived as cellar master in 2020. Today, the vines cover about 75 hectares, about 10 of which are planted with Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.
