Lot presentation

Glen Keith 14 years 1995 Ian Macleod Cask n°92051-92052 St Etienne Rum Finish - One of 540 - bottled 2009 Dun Bheagan

The wine

A small batch Glen Keith (#92051-52) distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2009 for the Dun Bheagan range, matured in St Etienne rum casks. Ian Macleod & Company Ltd was founded in 1933 by Leonard Russell Senior. It was bought by the Russell family in 1963 and Peter Russell took over at the helm. At the time Ian Macleod bottled blends and independent bottlings, including the famous Chieftain’’s range of single casks built from the stocks amassed by Leonard Russell Senior when he was founding his brokerage company in 1936. The business became Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd in 2003 after buying Glengoyne, which was later joined by Tamdhu in 2011 and Rosebank in 2017. A limited edition of 540 bottles.

About the Producer Glen Keith

Founded in 1957 by the Chivas Brothers group, the Glen Keith distillery was, in its early days, designed to trial new ideas. Originally equipped for triple distillation, it was also the first to install a gas-fired still system, developed its own strains of yeast and produced a peated single malt named Glenisla. The distillery was mothballed in 1999 and then bought by Pernod Ricard, who updated the distillery and relaunched production in 2013.
