Lot presentation

Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Grande Montagne Maison Louis Jadot 2014

The wine

To the south of the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne Montrachet is part of the Côte des Blancs. Harvested by hand and delicately pressed, the grapes ferment in barrels and are then matured for 15 months on fine lees before bottling. It is golden in colour with hints of green. The nose gives off aromas of acacia and hawthorn which complement the nutty and mineral notes. With time, it will develop more sugary aromas of pear and honey. A soft, silky texture really lifts this wine!

About the Producer Louis Jadot

Based in Beaune, it combines historic stature with remarkable vitality, continuing to attract leading figures of the wine world to shape and interpret its many terroirs. Now owned by an American family, the wines are crafted under the assured direction of Frédéric Barnier, who safeguards the house’s hallmark precision and consistency. These unwavering standards are what sets Maison Jadot apart in Burgundy. With 225 hectares under vine and representation across 130 appellations, not only in the Côte d’Or but also in the Mâconnais and Beaujolais, wine lovers can expect genuine pleasure at every price level, always easily identifiable by the iconic Bacchus head on the label. The estate favours traditional winemaking methods, with slow fermentations and extended ageing. Chemical herbicides are prohibited and yields are strictly limited. A house where scale never eclipses identity, and tradition continues to shape every bottle.
