La maison M. Chapoutier est devenue l'une des institutions les plus réputées de la vallée du Rhône. Les 240 hectares du domaine de Michel Chapoutier sont cultivés en biodynamie, ce qui en fait l'un des plus grands vignobles français convertis à ce mode de culture. Le domaine s'étend sur une grande partie des appellations de la vallée du Rhône septentrionale, mais aussi méridionale. Cette maison au savoir-faire reconnu a également exporté ses talents dans d'autres régions : le Roussillon, l'Alsace, le Portugal et le sud de l'Australie. A la dégustation, le côte-rôtie Les Bécasses exhale un parfum de framboise et de violette, avec des notes épicées. The "bio" designation covers certified wines produced by biodynamic or organic methods, sustainably produced wines, and "environmentally friendly" wines that are not officially certified. See the blog article for more information.
The "biodynamic" designation covers all estates certified for using biodynamic methods or in the process of converting to biodynamics. They are accredited by one of the two official bodies, Demeter or Biodyvin. All wines produced by biodynamic methods are also certified as organic.
The "organic" designation covers all estates certified for using organic methods or in the process of converting to organic agriculture. They are accredited by one of the bodies approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, such as Ecocert.
The "sustainable" designation covers all estates certified for using sustainable or High Environmental Value (level 3 Environmental Certification) techniques.
The "environmentally friendly" designation refers to estates practising environmentally friendly wine-growing techniques, but that have not opted for certification. These estates may have adopted biodynamic principles (non-certified) or simply no longer use chemical products.
All designations apply to recent vintages.
