A pleasing price for this gem out of the lap of Château Belle-Vue, it is reputed for its freshness and its minty notes. More info

Built in 1860, Château Bolaire is owned by Vincent Mulliez (also owner of Châteaux de Gironville and Belle-vue) and is situated in Macau, in the lieu-dit of Le Bout de l’Île. From the same team behind Belle-Vue, a benchmark for the appellation, this Bordeaux Superieur is produced with the same meticulous attention. The vineyard extends over seven hectares and stands out for its very high proportion of Petit Verdot (50%), conferring menthol and spiced notes in the wine; the average age of vines here is 50 years. Wines are vinified at a low temperature and mature in barrels (30% new wood). Wines from this domain are beautifully made, offering a seductively lingering finish in the mouth. One of the stars of the appellation, with an exceptional price/enjoyment ratio!
The wine matures for 12 months in barrels (30% new wood). In tasting, notes of blackberry and blackcurrant emerge with hints of vanilla on the palate; it delivers great freshness with a seductively soft and silken mouthfeel. Ideal for pairing alongside a good Bordeaux steak!

Bolaire serve at a temperature of 16°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Entrecôte à la Bordelaise, Carré d'agneau aux herbes, Saint-Marcellin.

    Information about domain Château Bolaire
