"Ce vins d'un pourpre d'encre, qui doit à sa faible acidité son caractère charnu et gras, est de bonne mâche et exprime avec ampleur une concentration et une densité d'excellent aloi.(...)il devrait, si l'on se fit à sa faible acidité, évoluer assez rapidement ; cependant, sa concentration est telle qu'elle devrait lui permettre de tenir une bonne vingtaine d'années."
