  • What the experts say...

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Saint-Pierre offers up warm cassis, redcurrant jelly, baked black berries and Black Forest cake with earth, herbs and meaty hints. Medium-bodied, it has a great core of muscular fruit with a firm and grainy frame and is solidly built, finishing long and layered. The blend is 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc, and it was aged in French oak for 14 months, 50% new. About 50% of the total production went into this grand vin, with 80,500 bottles produced. The Wine Advocate (Lisa Perrotti-Brown), 16/03/2020

Information about domain Château Saint-Pierre (Saint-Julien)

Throughout its long history, Château Saint Pierre has been constantly split, reformed and split again. It owes its name to Baron Jean-Baptiste de Saint-Pierre, the owner of the estate in the 18th century. In 1855, the quality of its wines elevated it to the rank of fourth grand cru classé. Saint-Pierre's return to the limelight owes everything to Henri Martin who, after revitalizing Château Gloria, restored life and integrity to Château Saint-Pierre, reassembling the vineyard and restoring the residence and the winery. Only one wine is produced from the 17 hectares of vineyards.
