A lovely Pernand premier cru, and 100% biodynamic! More info

This cuvée comes from an east-facing plot that was planted in 1954, where the soil is deep and rich in iron. Biodynamics are at the heart of the domain’s practices, with Chandon de Briailles having been somewhat of a pioneer in the matter; its whole vineyard is labelled as such. The wine is matured in wood, including a small proportion of new oak, so as to avoid a heavy finish in the cuvées.
In the glass, this is an intensely red wine with a nose of fresh red fruit. On the palate, it is round and not overly tannic, with a pleasant hint of spice coming through. We recommend keeping this one in the cellar for a few years before opening it, as is the general rule for wines from Chandon de Briailles.

Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses Chandon de Briailles serve at a temperature of 16°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Filet de bœuf richelieu , Oeufs cocotte à la truffe, Poularde à la bourgeoise.

Information about domain Chandon de Briailles

Situated in the heart of the Côte de Beaune and spread over three villages (Savigny-Lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses et Aloxe-Corton), this domain was bought in 1834 by Countess Chandon de Briailles. It has been belonged to the same family ever since. A pioneer of bioydynamics in the region, the domain is also known for its élevages using very little new oak.
