Created in 1868 in the small town of Auxey-Duresses, Maison Leroy owes its boom to Henry Leroy, who entered the family business in 1919. In 1942, he bought 50% of the vineyard of Romanée-Conti that the family still owns in co-ownership with the Villaine family. Since 1955, it has been his daughter Marcelle - who everyone calls Lalou - at its head. She claims her father poured a drop of Musigny on her lips at birth. Between 1985 and 1989, to make the greatest wines, she bought the vines of domains Noëllat and Philippe Rémy with the help of her Japanese importer to create Domaine Leroy. Today Lalou-Bize Leroy is at the head of an extraordinary wine heritage that has 22.4 hectares spread over 24 appellations. No compromise is made: the vines are grown biodynamically and yields are extremely low. Whereas the trading house wines are extremely appreciated, the wines of the actual domain are regarded as a true cult as they embody, with the DRC, the best in Burgundy. The domain’s reputation having largely gone outside French borders, it is very difficult to obtain some of its prestigious wines.
This cuvée of Saint-Aubin Premier cru is part of the high couture trading business of Maison Leroy.

Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Le Charmois Leroy SA serve at a temperature of 16°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Poulet rôti aux olives, Côte de veau panée à la Milanaise, Lapin sauté à l'estragon.

    Information about domain Leroy SA

The legendary Leroy house in Auxey-Duresses was created by François Leroy in 1868. At the beginning of the following century, Henri Leroy contributed greatly to making these wines famous, and his daughter, Lalou Bize-Leroy, took over in 1971. Moreover, this icon of Burgundy made itself renowned by buying the Domaine Charles Noëllat to create its own domain. The Leroy family is also co-owner of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti with the Villaine family. The wines of the Leroy house have an exemplary quality. No doubt this is the greatest Burgundy wine. The grapes are meticulously selected; they must come from at least responsibly cultivated vines. The winemaking and maturing are carried out with as much care as in the domain that produces exceptional wines.
