This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is perfect for cellaring. Powerful and strong, this wine from Isabel Ferrando is like a dream More info

This cuvée is a blend of mainly Grenache with old Mourvèdre vines, and comes from the unique pebble terroir that is home to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This sustainably made wine is perfectly suited to cellaring. The vines are harvested by hand, the grapes are sorted when they arrive in the cellar. They are vinified parcel by parcel, using stemmed grapes. The fermentation process begins naturally, the casking process is gentle, without excessive extraction. They are aged for 18 months in demi-muids (wooden cask of approx. 600 litres).
The Charles Guiraud collection sports a deep colour, revealing aromas of black fruits, liquorice, and leather that showcase a particularly warm and sunny terroir. This powerful wine needs a few years rest in the cellar and should be decanted at least 2 hours before serving.
For a food pairing, it will enhance your highest-quality meats. It can be stored for about fifteen years without any issues.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Collection Charles Giraud Isabel Ferrando serve at a temperature of 16°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Chevreuil grand veneur, Canard sauce aux truffes, Viandes rouges grillées.

    Information about domain Saint Préfert

Isabel Ferrando, a former banker, bought Domaine Saint-Préfert in 2003. The vineyard was planted in 1930 on gravel and pebble soils on the southern side of the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Isabel has been producing three cuvées of Châteauneuf-du-Pape red since the beginning of her winemaking career. Her wines reflect the appellation's warm, well-drained and sunny terroir to perfection, and are therefore imbued with candied, chocolatey and empyreumatic notes. Thanks to this determined woman's endeavours, this sustainably-run property is one of the top names in the appellation.
