Vin de France A la source Marcel Richaud serve at a temperature of 12°C.
In 1960 Gaston Richaud married and his wife inherited 12 hectares. He swapped his trade as a cabinet maker for winegrowing and 14 years later, his son Marcel took over at the tender age of 17. Marcel parted company with the cooperative he and his father supplied grapes to and in 1987 he took over a very fine 3-hectare single vineyard, l’Ebrescade. This is when people began to notice him. Marcel Richaud is both passionate and meticulous. He strives constantly to come up with new ways to cultivate the land, prune the vines and to vinify and mature the wine. The Cairanne appellation has him to thank for its full cru status, granted in 2015. His son Thomas and daughter Claire are gradually taking over the reins of the business. The wines are produced following a natural approach and become more refined by the vintage. This is one name in the region you don’t want to miss.
