Located in Chanos-Curson, Domaine des Entrefaux spans 28 hectares in the Crozes-Hermitages appellation. This family domaine is managed by Charles et François Tardy, two winemakers committed to expressing the diversity of their terroir as faithfully as possible. They started the transition to organic viticulture some years ago and received certification in 2011. They also practice a few biodynamic methods to help sustain microbial life in the vineyard and prevent disease. They till the soils, cover crop the vines and limit yields; The vineyard is sits on a stony terrace called ‘Les Chassis” and is planted mostly to Syrah with 4 hectares of Marsanne and Roussane. They have also just acquired two hectares of Viognier and Chardonnay that they vinify as a Vin de Pays. Work in the winery tries to let nature lead where possible. No yeast is added and only a minimal amount of sulphur. Elevage takes place in oak and vats. This is a domaine that produces excellent wines with fresh fruit aromas at reasonable prices.
