As the name suggests, the wine is composed primarily of Cinsault, completed by Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Cultivated on soils of sandstone and schist, the grapes are partially destemmed before vatting and then matured in demi-muids. The nose will charm you instantly with its fresh red and black fruit notes, lifted by spiced, liquorice notes. On the palate, there is pleasant acidity, minerality and refined tannins. This lovely cuvée is an ode to Cinsault, which is too often used solely for rosé wines.

Languedoc Les Vignes Oubliées Autour du Cinsault Jean-Baptiste Granier serve at a temperature of 17°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Canard aux olives, Bleu de Bresse, Brie.

Information about domain Les Vignes Oubliées

Located in the Saint Privat municipality, at the southern edge of the Larzac plateau, this domain was bought by Olivier Jullien and Jean-Baptiste Granier in 2008 and converted to organic agriculture. The reason they chose this name for their domain was that these vines were almost left to disappear because they didn't correspond to the agriculture desired by the cooperative cellars who bought the grapes. For the winemaker, Les vignes oubliées is a generous, balanced wine made for sharing. “This is the most important thing, because wine is made for drinking and drinking again…”
