From one of the Beaujolais' most powerful crus, this Gamay is made to be aged. More info

It's clear to see (and taste!) that Mee Godard has taught herself how to draw all the nobility from the Gamay grape. Eco-friendly in her approach, she cultivates her vines organically, picks her grapes by hand, and carries out thorough vinifications. This Moulin-à-Vent cuvée comes from one of the Beaujolais' most powerful crus. It requires a little bit of ageing in order for its floral and fruity notes to flourish. Its tannins are quite silky, and it has a ruby red appearance. Fans of local food pairings will enjoy this with local charcuterie, pâté in pastry, or sausage. Otherwise, grilled meat or an autumnal dish like stuffed butternut squash would go nicely, too.

Moulin à Vent Les Michelons Mee Godard serve at a temperature of 14°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Pâté en croûte, Bavette à l'échalote, Grillades.

Information about domain Mee Godard

Originally from South Korea, Mee Godard can't claim to have wine in her blood. Her ancestors were certainly not winemakers but her adoptive parents encouraged her to spread her wings in the viticultural industry. So armed with several degrees in biology, biochemistry and oenology, Mee Godard acquired a few hectares of vines in Beaujolais, a region she is fond of for the beauty of its landscapes. It was on Morgon that she set her sights in 2013 before falling in love with some other beautiful vines in Moulin-à-Vent in 2016. There, inspired by the local tenets of the natural wine movement, she forged ahead in producing deep, dense, elegant and lively wines with splendid freshness thanks to an organic growth and Burgundian vinification. One thing is certain, this woman will go far, bringing the future of Beaujolais with her. She is definitely one to watch.
