  • Les Blanchais is Henri Pellé’s first single-parcel cuvée. The cuvée was created in the 1980s. Produced from a terroir of Kimmerdgian marl and clay-limestone on the surface, with some flint. Fermentations take place in wooden and stainless steel vats, and élevage (on lees) in casks, barrels and stainless steel. The old vines of Sauvignon produce a powerful, exhuberant wine. The nose gives off aromas of citrus fruits, with a vegetal element which is also present on the palate, as well as a very pleasant minerality. This wine will reward some years of aging.

In the very east of the Loire, nestled between meadows and hills, domain Pellé makes wines in the Menetou-Salon appellation. Created in 1959, it lies on terroirs of marl, clay and Kimmeridgian limestone. The domain farms its vines sustainably, tilling the soils and keeping its yields low. Exemplary wines with impressive minerality.
