An elegant and saline wine, with nice density on the palate. Perfect with seafood. More info

"Le Fief du Breil" is a wine from 40-year-old vines planted on a hillside overlooking the Sèvre Nantaise, facing south with a 10% slope. The soil is poor, clay-siliceous, very pebbly with a strong presence of quartz. The vine, handled biodynamically and organically, is harvested manually, with sorting on the vine. Fermentation takes place in cement tanks in native yeast, without malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged on fermentation lees for 14 to 24 months with bâtonnage. The "Fief du Breil" is an iodised wine, smoked, with a lively attack that gradually reveals the fruit. It has volume and considerable length. This elegant and wild side will go perfectly with seafood. Can be enjoyed from 18 to 24 months following the vintage.

Muscadet-Sèvre-et-Maine Le Fief du Breil Jo Landron serve at a temperature of 11°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Huîtres, Bar.

    Information about domain Jo Landron

Today, Jo Landron is a key Loire wine producer having helped reinvigorate the fortunes of Muscadet wines which have long been considered a simple aperitif. In 1979 Jo joined the vineyard which his father had acquired in 1945. Convinced of the benefits of organic farming, he persuaded his father to convert the domain to organic in 1987 and went on to adopt a biodynamic approach in 2011. There are currently 48 hectares of vines spread across two properties - Château de la Carizière in la Haye Fouassière, and Domaine de la Louvetrie on the banks of the Sèvre. Jo Landron grows Melon de Bourgogne, also known as Muscadet, which is the regional grape variety par excellence. His wines have a surprisingly good texture and acidity with some light salty notes. They are the ideal accompaniment at the table but some cuvées are a delight to drink on their own. This domain has worked its way to the top of the appellation and its wines can be found in many high-end restaurants. Half of its output is exported.
