This Dolcetto reveals a rich, full bodied wine with a seductive bouquet of black cherry, violet, and spice in its youth. More info

Bruno Giacosa started his career as a wine merchant before acquiring vineyard plots to produce his own wines. He never stopped working as a trader, and the winegrower alongside his daughters continue to offer wines from plots that have been recognised as the best for each grape variety over the years. This is the case of Dolcetto, which results from the careful selection of plots in the municipalities of Neive, Neviglie, Treiso and Alba. After being harvested, the grapes are macerated in stainless steel vats for ten days before being aged in the same container for six months.
Simple and fruity, yet eminently flavoursome, Dolcetto reveals a bouquet of blackberry, black cherry, violet, and spices in its youth. Full-bodied and ripe on the palate, its powdery tannins provide the structure required for the perfect balance. A wine to savour within two to five years, alongside grilled meat, for example.

Dolcetto d'Alba DOC Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa serve at a temperature of 15°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Ribs au barbecue, Boudin noir à la purée de pomme de terre, Chakchouka.

Information about domain Bruno Giacosa

Bruno Giacosa, who passed away in January 2018, was an iconic Italian winemaker, notably in the Barolo and Barbaresco appellations. His career began very early at the age of 13, when he helped his parents in the family wine business. He also learned very young about grape selection during harvesting. This allowed him to establish a reputation as an excellent négociant. Before acquiring his own domaine (Azienda Agricola Falletto), he vinified grapes from prestigious crus. On the domaine, red wines are macerated in thermoregulated stainless steel vats. White wines are aged in stainless steel and Barberas and Nebbiolos are aged in large oak barrels. Ageing lasts between 1 and 3 years and the wines are then stored in bottles for a while prior to sale.
