A fresh wine characterised by its Grenache content. More info

Domain Comando G pursues the noble aim of making wine from old Grenache vines, the variety honoured in the producer’s name. Bruja de Rozas is a single-variety Grenache cuvée produced from two parcels: Matallana (granite soil, 950m altitude, 80-year-old vines) and Entrepinos (granitic sand, 850m altitude, 50-year-old vines). The harvest is carried out by hand since the domain follows a biodynamic philosophy with little intervention in the process. Vinification is performed by parcel in wooden vats, with native yeasts, and élevage continues for seven months in tanks and demi-muid barrels. Tasting reveals a very attractive wine with aromas of rose and peppery cocoa notes. The palate is refined, fresh and mineral, and the tannins are light and very mellow. The Grenache grape brings its hint of freshness and character to the cuvée. A simple yet very well-made wine that should be served at 16°C. It will pair nicely with a poultry fricassé or a fig tart.

Vinos de Madrid DO Comando G La Bruja de Rozas serve at a temperature of 16°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Fricassée de volaille à l'ancienne, Poivrons confits, Tarte aux figues.

Information about domain Daniel Gomez Jimenez-Landi

Daniel Landi and Fernando Garcia are childhood friends. They decided to crzeate Comando G in 2008 in the mountainous Sierra de Gredos region, not far from Madrid. The went on the search for vineyards planted in the most difficult, remote areas. Garnacha (Grenache) is their grape variety of choice, and their ambition is to make wines which rival the elegance and finesse of a Burgundian Pinot Noir or a Syrah from Hermitage. The 10-hectare domain is entirely biodynamic, and the vines aged 50 to 80 years, planted between 850 and 1,200 metres of altitude on soils of sand, granite, ardoise and quartz. The combination of well-draining soils, high altitude and a clement micro-climate guarantees a long growing season, wines which are not too high in alcohol and extremely refined.
