    The wine

Brane Cantenac’s First wine is mainly composed of Cabernet-Sauvignon (about 60%) completed by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and in more recent vintages a hint of Carmenère. The wine has a rich bouquet, blackberry, violets and truffles after a few years. On the palate, typical Margaux tannins are recognizable, both smooth and elegant. Brane is never the most demonstrative, but it is a superb wine that ages with grace. The recent vintages are at an excellent level.

Information about domain Château Brane Cantenac

Baron de Brane, known as the Napoleon of the vines, acquired Château Gorce in 1833. A winegrowing pioneer, he recognized the reputation and potential of this exceptional terroir, located on Cantenac's finest slopes, and devoted all his energy and fortune to developing it. In 1838, to leave his mark on the property, he renamed it Brane-Cantenac”.The Lurton family bought this prestigious property in 1925, and with the passing generations has maintained the delicate, complex, aromatic style for which Brane-Cantenac is known.
