The first vintage emerged in 1979, showcasing the characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon. As an excellent vin de garde, the Opus One needs many years to develop its phenomenal aromatic palette.
Philippe de Rothschild's and Robert Mondavi's joint venture in the early 1970s resulted in a cru of remarkable quality christened `Opus One'.
