This wine, from one of the region's, if not Italy's top properties, is characterised by its balance and finesse. More info
This cuvée boasts great aromatic finesse which delivers a combination of freshness and purity. It has red berry and liquorice notes on the nose, is well-structured on the palate, and its tartness brings balance to this very pleasant wine.
The Roagna family owns a historic domaine in the village of Barbaresco in the Piedmont. It began producing dry wines circa 1880, when the region was the area of choice for northern Italian sweet wine makers. The domaine was extended in 1989, and now also produces Barbarescos and Barolos. Luca, who has a diploma in oenology, made his first vintage in 2001. He is keen on long, gentle extractions which he believes are appropriate for the Nebbiolo grape variety. Sulphur is used sparingly at less than 35 mg/l, and the domaine is run along organic lines, even though it is not formally certified.
