    The wine

In the domain, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines come from pebbly soil. Here is the proof: Grenache noir, Syrah and Mourvèdre that make up this cuvée come from old vines that are dotted around the clay-clotted soils which have been strewn with pebbles for almost 90 years. They absorb the day’s heat to then restore it to the vines at night. Nicolas and Claire-Jeanne Boiron follow a traditional winemaking process in thermo-regulated concrete vats, daily gentle rack and return and pump-over, 35-day barrel fermentation and ageing in barrels and demi-muid barrels for 12 to 18 months. This is therefore an impressive, elegant and aromatic Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Wait many years before drinking with game and other flavoursome dishes.

Information about domain Bosquet des Papes

Domaine Bosquet des Papes has been in the Boiron family since 1860. Situted in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the estate spans 31 hectares. Nicolas Boiron and Claire-Jeanne take great pride in their Châteaneuf-du-Pape grand cru and have recently taken on a big investment project to modernise their techniques while respecting the winemaking tradition. Under their direction, the domain expanded to include 27 ha in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape red appellation, 1.5 ha in the Châteaneuf-du-Pape white appellation and 3.5 hectares of Côtes-du-Rhône red and rosé. Sustainable agriculture marks a respect for the complex terroir composed of the famous “galets roulés” and sandy soil of the region. Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvèdre are the favoured grape varieties.
