    Cuvée presentation

The Jacques Prieur domaine offers up a Meursault from the Clos de Mazeray. The Chardonnay it is made from is cultivated within this vineyard, which is held in a monopoly and spans almost 3 hectares (2.87, to be precise). This vineyard is actually the great legacy of the monks of the abbey of Cîteaux which, since its origin, has produced red and white wines. The Chardonnay also draws its distinction from the alluvial soil which is composed of clay and limestone and rests on a former riverbed.
The harvests are carried out manually and the grapes transported to the winery in little tubs. There, the bunches of grapes are pressed whole in a pneumatic press. The must ferments in oak barrels and the wine is also matured in oak barrels for a year and a half. Malolactic fermentation is fully accomplished.
Tasting reveals a golden coloured wine with glints of green. This unleashes an intense blend of aromas rich in yellow fruits (pineapple and apricot) and a sumptuous palate with a lingering, flavoursome finish.

    Information about domain Jacques Prieur

The Domaine Jacques Prieur is one of the most prestigious domains in Burgundy. It is the only domain with vines in the five mythic appellations of Chambertin, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot, Corton Charlemagne and Montrachet. Since 2007, 70% of the domain is owned by the Labruyère family (Clos du Moulin at Moulin-à-vent and Château Rouget at Pommerol), who bought Antonin Rodet's shares. Jean-Pierre Labruyère is the manager. The other 30% is still owned by the Prieur heirs. Half of the distribution is taken care of by Antonin Rodet and the other half by the domain. The wines are vinified by Nadine Gublin since 1990, renowned oenologist for her work, the precision and the quality of her wines. It is now one of the most prestigious from Burgundy. It is the only domain with vines in the five biggest iconic appellations of Chambertin, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot, Corton Charlemagne and Montrachet.
