The château dates from the 19th century and is in the commune of Cissac, from which it takes its name. A family-run property since 1855, Danielle Vialard currently manages the vineyard, treating with all the necessary care to produce full-bodied wines with lots of finesse and a powerful bouquet. The Vialard family also manages Châteaux Breuil and Tour-du-Mirail, in the same commune. The property was promoted to Cru Bourgeois Supérieur status in the 2003 revision of the 1932 classification.
