    The wine

Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes is a very beautiful wine, produced from vines planted in 1920. The nose is highly scented, with plum aromas and animal, cedar and licorice notes. On the palate, there is an excellent, velvety, well-coated tannic texture, richness, savour and great volume. The finish is very persistent, with spicy fruit aromas and animal notes.

    Information about domain Jacky Truchot

Domaine Jacky Truchot, in Morey-Saint-Denis, disappeared in 2006 (the 7 hectares were sold to David Duband through an investor), following the winemaker's retirement. It is a domaine which has remained quite mysterious, very little publicised and of which little is known, only that its wines are sublime and increasingly sought after by connoisseurs, some bottles going for high prices. Jacky Truchot and his wife Liliane took over a cousin's domaine, (Henri Mauffrey) when he died in 1978. The vineyard, which is very prestigious, included some vines planted at the beginning of the last century. After vinifying 26 vintages, the winemaker ended with his fine 2005 vintage. The style of the wines is classic, with considerable elegance and refinement with subtle yet numerous tannins.
