This Chassagne-Montrachet, which is the result of an organic and biodynamic cultivation and an extremely long maturation, delivers a strikingly pure fruitiness. More info
The family domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet offers us a Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru from a climat which adjoins some of the most prestigious of the appellation. Namely, Les Vergers and Chevenottes. The Chardonnay vines are about 80 years old and draw the quintessential qualities of their terroir from reddish clay and limestone soils which are rich in iron oxide. The Bachelet brothers, who run the estate, are committed to cultivating their plants organically and biodynamically. Their work in the cellar is just as careful and respects the living. The maturation is long and spread out over 20 months in order to let the fruit burst forth. A bold and successful gamble which allows the wine to undergo a long cellaring period. You will then be able to appreciate this wine’s lovely bright golden colour, as well as its complex blend of aromas, rich in flowers, fruits like pear and quince, citrus fruits, white pepper and honey. These fragrances lead into a fresh, intense and juicy palate. The wine has a lingering mineral finish, and goes perfectly with great fish, for example.
