Michel Muré settled and began winemaking here in Rouffach, just south of Colmar back in the 17th Century. In 1935, his descendent Alfred Muré extended the estate with the addition of Clos Saint-Landelin, replanting these 12 hectares of terraced vineyard to optimise this ideally-situated terroir with its fabulous sun-exposure and shelter from the rain. Today it is Alfred's grandson René who, along with his children Véronique and Thomas – the domaine's twelfth-generation vintners – continue to run this execeptional vineyard using biodynamic methods.
