Darroze was founded by Jean Darroze, a famous Landes chef at the family-run restaurant Le Relais, which opened in 1870 and has been awarded two Michelin stars. He taught his son Francis about all of the region’‘s gastronomical delights, of course including Armagnac. In the 1950s, the two men began a journey to seek out the most outstanding Armagnacs produced by small estates. The business developed in the 1970s with the construction of a cellar for ageing these spirits. Today, Marc Darroze manages the company, following in his father’‘s footsteps.
