Domain: Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry

Neighbouring the illustrious Château Margaux, this estate has spent the past few decades constantly challenging and improving the quality of its wine, ranked Troisième Grand Cru in 1855. Elegance, delicateness and, above all, excellent ageing potential stem from these efforts.

The name of this property is taken from two former owners: Malescot and Saint Exupéry, the grandfather of the famous aviator-writer. Château Malescot Saint Exupéry adjoins part of Château Margaux's vineyard. The soil in the vineyard consists of Pyrenean gravel. After a period of producing relatively disappointing wines between 1960 and 1980, the current owners focused their efforts on improving quality. From the beginning of the 1990s, the wines, with aromas of red fruit, have become richer and more intense, and have been more consistent. They are also now refined, offering a more delicate body.
