A legendary year with wines that attained incredible levels of elegance and refinement. The 1920 wines, less rich than the opulent 1929 wines to which they are often compared, are without a doubt more distinguished and subtle. These well-composed wines are lacking in body but they are nevertheless elegant and very supple. Most of the 1920 wines aged fairly quickly. The grands crus are almost all exceptional, but the most remarkable ones are the Latours and Cheval Blancs. The vintage was difficult for the sweet wines, producing fine and elegant wines that lacked richness.
