Château Branaire's vines, known as Branaire-Ducru, were once part of Château Beychevelle's vast vineyard. Classified as a fourth growth in 1855, it has belonged to a family-owned group headed by Patrick Maroteaux since 1988. The vineyard is located on one of the finest gravelly hilltops in the commune of Saint Julien-Beychevelle. The wine is very supple with an exceptional aromatic richness. Vinification has been carried out in a modern gravity-operated winery since 1991. Pumping of the harvested grapes and the wine is thereby avoided, and the grapes are kept whole and undamaged.
About the cuvée
Duluc is the second wine produced by this Saint Julien classified growth. It is produced with the same care as the château's grand vin, and benefits from the ongoing quest for excellence of this prestigious representative of the appellation. It is produced with a view to offering a wine that is more accessible and less demanding than the château's grande cuvée. It generally has fruity aromas that are often accompanied by fresh plant or mineral notes. This is a wine that can be enjoyed when it is very young but can also be kept for a few years. An excellent way of sampling the results of the meticulous work carried out at this château, which is considered to be one of the best in the appellation.

Evironmentally friendly : The «environmentally friendly» designation refers to estates practising environmentally friendly wine-growing techniques, but that have not opted for certification or who are still in the process of converting to organic agriculture or biodynamics. These estates may have adopted biodynamic principles (non-certified) or simply no longer use chemical products. This designation applies to recent vintages.
Natural : Wines which are produced without any added sulfur (or almost any) and with no other inputs. However, given that there is no official body to issue the natural wine label, it is based on winemakers’ statements. This designation applies to recent vintages.
