Laurent Roumier, the cousin of Christophe (from the George Roumier domain) worked for a long time with his brother. Since 1991 he manages a four hectare-domain of rented vineyards, which he increased to seven hectares in 2005. These vineyards spread over the Bourgogne, Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny, Clos Vougeot and Bonnes-Mares appellations. Laurent Roumier traditionally cultivates and vinifies using the old methods of treading and pumping over, without a pre-fermentation "cold soak". A man of few words, Laurent is fairly secretive when it comes to "savoir-faire". However, his savoir-faire is highly regarded amongst the enlightened connoisseurs. About the cuvée
This Chambolle-Musingny is the epitome of elegance. Its village appellation produces beautiful, silky wines with great finesse and a density which is not far off a premier cru. A wine that comes from the five parcels situated around the village (1.5 ha, average age 35 years). One of these parcels, which is over 50 years old, is brilliantly exposed on stony plots next to the famous Musigny grand cru.
