Le Clos Marie is without doubt the Pic Saint-Loup's most beautiful domain, and among the most sought-after by switched-on connoisseurs. From their twenty or so hectares of vines, Christophe Peyrus and his wife Françoise Julien have achieved miracles since 1995. Their vines are biodynamically cultivated, with long, careful élevages. Each of their cuvées is very expressive, reflecting the full diversity of its terroir with its own highly individual style. The star of this already remarkable domain continues to rise. Definitely one to watch!
About the cuvée
Cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods, the Carignan Blanc, Grenache Gris and Rolle grapes which compose this cuvée are matured in foudre vats. Upon tasting, the wine has an attractive golden colour, and exudes a very seductive aromatic bouquet. It also features touches of fresh almond, sweet spices, candied apricot and minerals. Its well-rounded, fruity palate has a long finish, and will enhance white meats in sauce, smoked fish and cheese platters wonderfully.
