The Kientzler family have been winemaking in Ribeauvillé for five generations, passing the domaine on from father to son, theirs is one the most well-regarded domaines in the region. The vineyard stretches over 14 hectares, including the villages of Ribeauvillé, Bergheim, Hunawihr and Riquewihr and is planted largely with old vines, as well as new stock selected from the most robust older specimens. In 2009 André Kientzler passed the reins of this domaine to his two sons, Thierry and Eric, who continue to produce a remarkable collection of wines.
About the cuvée
Produced from the Geisburg Grand Cru, this Riesling reveals an intense aromatic bouquet characterised by mineral, citrus and white flower notes. Its appealing volume is counterbalanced by a strong mineral character, lending it purity and sparkle. It can be drunk when young, yet reveals great aromatic generosity after a few years' keeping.
