Beaujolais | 2001 vintage
A good vintage, but the quality varies depending on the cru. A true wine-maker's vintage. In terms of ripening and earliness, the wines are similar to 1995, a very good year for Beaujolais. This was also a vintage of heavy sorting: in order to produce a good vintage, wine-producers had to very careful to eliminate the grapes that were too ripe. The Saint-Amou, Moulin à Vent and Morgon are splendid wines.
