Information
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg was created in 1933 by Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret. Their son, Georges Mugneret, took over the domaine and expanded it. Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée, the daughters of Georges and Jacqueline, now run it. The vineyards are distributed over the appellations of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Ruchottes-Chambertin and Clos Vougeot. The wines of this domaine have a very classic style and its quality has improved a lot in recent years. The cuvées can be presented under two labels, Georges Mugneret and Mugneret-Gibourg.
This Echézeaux comes from two plots: Les Rouges du Bas and Les Quartiers de Nuits. The nose opens into floral, fruity notes (especially cherry). The palate reveals a great concentration, a ripe, delicate substance with a full body and great elegance. This wine makes a great pairing for red and white meat and poultry.
