Information
The red wines that come from the production area of this appellation also have the appellation Côtes de Beaune-Villages. The red wines are very colourful. They develop strong aromas that evoke red or dark berries (cherry, blueberry and blackcurrant), oak, moss and undergrowth. Their flavours leave a fair amount of astringency on the palate and smoothness that gives them an elegant charm. The premiers crus are full-bodied and well-structured thanks to a strong tannins, with a pronounced bouquet. The premiers cru les Champs Fuillot, situated on the extension of the Caillerets (Volnay), produces the best wines from this appellation.
