Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Rouges Clos Frantin - Albert Bichot 2018

La cuvée

Maison Albert Bichot is comprised of four domains, including Clos Frantin in the Côte de Nuits, stretching over nearly 7.3 hectares. This Premier Cru stems from Pinot Noirs vines established on the gentle slopes of a pebbly terroir in Flagey Echézeaux, just above Les Echézeaux. The grapes, organically grown for the past decade, are handpicked before macerating in temperature-controlled truncated-shaped wooden vats where fermentation is achieved with natural yeasts. The wine is then matured for 14 to 18 months in barrels of which about one third are new.
Revealing red fruits in their youth, bursting with Burlat cherry and redcurrant, Les Rouges soon assumes a spicy character, backed by liquorice and violets. Classic and elegant, this Premier Cru offers a beautiful volume backed by a mineral structure, delivering a nice freshness until the finish. A wine that will reveal its full potential after a few years of ageing and will pair wonderfully with a duck breast with honey.

L’azienda Albert Bichot possiede 1,75 ettari di un eccezionale Premier Cru situati nelle vicinanze di parcelle leggendarie, come Romanée-Conti a meno di 400 metri in linea d’aria e Richebourg a meno di 600 metri! Le vigne, di età compresa tra i 35 e i 40 anni, sono esposte a est e sud-est e sono coltivate su un suolo calcareo. Il Domaine du Clos Frantin, proprietà di Albert Bichot, produce i vini Richebourg, Chambertin, Clos-de-Vougeot, Grands-Echézeaux e Echézeaux in Grand Cru, Vosne-Romanée “Les Malconsorts” in Premier Cru e Gevrey-Chambertin “Les Murots”, Vosne-Romanée Les Maizières, Vosne-Romanée Les Damaudes e Nuits-Saint-Georges in Villages. Si estende su 13 ettari, di cui 8 di Premier e Grand Cru. I concimi e i diserbanti sono stati sostituiti da compost e aratura. Il rispetto dei suoli, la selezione rigorosa delle uve e le vendemmie verdi, se necessarie, permettono di ottenere uve di grande qualità. I vini sono vinificati in un edificio storico situato all’entrata di Nuits-Saint-Georges. In cantina, le operazioni effettuate sfruttando la gravità hanno sostituito i processi meccanici, per rispettare la qualità e il potenziale aromatico delle uve. Oggi l’azienda Albert Bichot gestisce 100 ettari di vigneti a Chablis, nella Côte de Nuits, nella Côte de Beaune e nella Côte Chalonnaise, distribuiti in quattro tenute:
- Château Long-Depaquit a Chablis (65 ettari)
- Domaine du Clos Frantin a Nuits-Saint-Georges (13 ettari) e Château Gris su un monopole del villaggio.
- Domaine du Pavillon a Pommard (17 ettari)
- Domaine Adélie a Mercurey (4,5 ettari)
In Borgogna si ritrovano tracce della famiglia Bichot sin dal 1350, ma i suoi membri hanno iniziato a dedicarsi alla viticoltura e alla produzione di vini solo nel XIX secolo. Albéric Bichot, alla conduzione dell’azienda dal 1996, è membro della sesta generazione.
