Vintage description 2010 Provence

The year followed a relatively conventional course until the month of August, without any notable weather events. This unexceptional process was slightly disrupted by significant rainfall shortly before the harvests, which had an impact on red wines in particular, some of which will probably be slightly diluted. Wine growers who harvested later - either by trusting their instincts or because they grow late varieties (such as Mourvèdre in Bandol or Cabernet Sauvignon in the Aix-en-Provence region) - were very successful, by contrast, as the vines had the time to absorb the rain and bring the grapes to peak ripeness. In general terms, this vintage delivers easy-drinking, appealing balance in red wines, which have retained a fine natural freshness due to lower alcohol levels and raised acidity.
