By purchasing the tasting kit, you will gain access to the virtual event, hosted by iDealwine via Zoom. You will hear all about the past and present of the château and its wines, the winemaking approach and philosophy of Guigal – all from its general manager and oenologist Philippe Guigal. We will then move on to the best part, the tasting. The event will last approximately 1 hour and will be followed by a Q&A.

Die in Ampuis, der Wiege der Côte-Rôtie-Weine, gelegene Domaine Guigal wurde 1946 von Etienne Guigal gegründet, der 1923 im Alter von 14 Jahren dorthin kam. Er ist maßgeblich am Erfolg der Appellation Côte-Rôtie beteiligt, die durch die Reblausplage Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts, die Wirtschaftskrise von 1929 und die beiden Weltkriege schwer getroffen wurde. 1961 übernahm der junge Marcel Guigal das Weingut von seinem Vater, nachdem dieser unerwartet erblindete. Angetrieben durch das ständige Streben nach Qualität, hat die Arbeit der Familie Guigal dazu beigetragen, dass die Côte-Rôtie-Weine sich neben den besten Grands Crus aus Bordeaux oder dem Burgund behaupten können. Der talentierte Önologe Philippe Guigal vertritt das Weingut in der dritten Generation. Das Haus produziert die drei Prestige-Weine La Landonne, La Mouline und La Turque. Ein Trio, das Weinliebhaber nur begeistern kann. Heute erstreckt sich der Weinberg über alle prestigeträchtigen Appellationen des Rhone-Tals: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Hermitage, Gigondas und Crozes-Hermitage. Die Weine werden in den Kellern von Ampuis vinifiziert und ausgebaut. Marcel Guigal und sein Sohn Philippe gehen im Weinberg und im Keller mit größter Sorgfalt vor. Integrierter Anbau, ausnahmslos Handarbeit, da die Parzellen eine Neigung von fast 45° aufweisen, Vinifikation in thermoregulierten Edelstahltanks, Ausbau über 42 Monate in neuen Eichenfässern für ein intensives Aroma. Darüber hinaus handelt es sich bei dem Weingut um ein Kulturerbe: der Sitz des Unternehmens befindet sich in dem denkmalgeschützten Renaissance-Juwel Château d'Ampuis. Maison Guigal ist eines der symbolträchtigsten Häuser des Rhônetals, es zeichnet sich durch seine gleichbleibende Qualität und beständige Traubenproduktion aus.
