Sotto la tutela di Allied Domecq, proprietario della distilleria fino ai primi anni 2000, Glendronach si è fatta apprezzare presso gli amanti dei single malt invecchiati in botti di sherry. Oltre a una magnifica versione di 12 anni, generosa ed elegante, sono le versioni di 18 anni delle annate 1972, 1976, 1977 (riportata sul retro della bottiglia) a suscitare l’interesse degli intenditori. All'inizio degli anni '90, diversi imbottigliamenti di The Glendronach 25 anni dell’annata 1968, realizzati per il mercato giapponese (ANA Edition) e americano (in parte venduti in Europa) suscitarono l'emozione degli intenditori e lasciarono intravedere la qualità delle botti in corso d’invecchiamento nelle cantine della distilleria. Ma bisognerà aspettare fino al 2008, con l'arrivo di Billy Walker al timone dell’azienda, perché la distilleria riveli tutto il suo potenziale. All'inizio del XXI secolo, quando molti hanno abbandonato da molto tempo lo stile andaluso in favore di un profilo morbido, più apprezzato dal grande pubblico, The Glendronach rimane al centro della scena continuando a proporre versioni 100% sherry, single cask e vintage, conquistando così il favore degli appassionati e collezionisti di whisky.
