Al di là della loro presenza nella gamma “Six Classics Malts”, Cragganmore e Lagavulin erano legati l'uno all'altro fin dal 1923, quando Sir Peter Mackie acquisì la Cragganmore Distillery e la fece entrare a far parte della sua azienda Mackie & Co - White Horse Distiller. Cragganmore è diventato un whisky di malto essenziale nella composizione dei blend dell'azienda, che è stata acquistata acquistata nel 1927 dalla DCL (Distillers Company Limited): White Horse, Old Parr. Amato dagli appassionati e intenditori, Cragganmore è ancora un single malt non troppo conosciuto. La sua versione di 12 anni, etichetta color crema, da più di vent'anni è il suo cavallo di battaglia. Solo una versione precedente invecchiata 12 anni, proposta da D. & J. McCallum Limited, Edimburgo, costituisce oggi un vero e proprio oggetto da collezione.
