Unter der Führung von Allied Domecq, denen die Brennerei bis Anfang der 2000er Jahre gehörte, wurde Glendronach bei Liebhabern von in ehemaligen Sherry-Fässern gereiften Single Malts bekannt. Neben einer ausgezeichneten, großzügigen und temperamentvollen 12-jährigen Version schätzen Kenner besonders die 18-jährigen Versionen der Jahrgänge 1972, 1976 und 1977 (Kennzeichnung auf der Rückseite der Flasche). In den frühen 90er Jahren sorgten mehrere Abfüllungen des Glendronach 25 Jahre 1968 für den japanischen (ANA Edition) und amerikanischen Markt (teilweise in Europa vertrieben) für Furore. Sie offenbarten die Qualität der Whiskys, die in den Kellern der Brennerei reiften. Doch erst 2008, mit Billy Walker an der Spitze, offenbarte die schlafende Schöne ihr ganzes Potenzial. Anfang des 21. Jahrhunderts, als viele ihre andalusische Aufmachung längst zugunsten eines runderen, konservativeren Stils aufgegeben hatten, brachte Glendronach regelmäßig 100% in Sherry-Fässern gereifte Whiskys, Single Casks und Jahrgangs-Whiskys auf den Markt. Die Fans waren begeistert.
