Beaune Clos du dessus des Marconnets Pierre Labet 2023

This white wine captures the understated elegance and authenticity of Beaune’s great white wines, rooted in a winemaking tradition that spans centuries. North of Beaune, the Chardonnay vines are planted within an enclosed vineyard on well-drained clay-limestone soils strewn with stones, giving the wine its hallmark minerality, tension and finesse. Harvested by hand at optimum ripeness, the grapes are gently pressed before fermenting in seasoned oak casks with native yeasts. The wine then undergoes extended ageing on its lees, with no excessive stirring, preserving its energy and vitality. No exogenous yeasts are used at any stage of the winemaking process.
In the glass, the wine shows a bright, pale yellow hue. The nose reveals aromas of white flowers, orchard fruit and warm stone. The first sip is precise, taut and vibrant, carried by lively freshness and a delicate saline edge.
