¿Por qué escoger este vino?
A harmonious, supple wine, with remarkable complexity, still affordable. One of Pessac-Léognan's best-kept secrets, it is consistent year in, year out.
Más informaciónLocated in the heart of the Graves, in Pessac-Léognan, Château Haut-Bailly presents a cuvée blended from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The vines that give rise to this wine are tended by hand with the utmost care and respect for the land.
Ageing lasts 18 months in French oak casks, 50% to 65% of which are renewed each year. Human intervention is kept to a minimum to allow the wine to faithfully express the true character of its terroir.
The dominance of Cabernet Sauvignon produces racy wines of great ageing potential, also appreciated for their suppleness and balance. The wine shows an intense hue with purplish glints. The nose offers a complex array of ripe black fruit and sweet spice notes supported by well-judged oak. On the palate, it reveals impressive fullness leading to a smooth, persistent finish.
A beautiful fruit to this delicate and refined wine. The tannins are perfectly integrated into the wine and almost give it a pinot texture. The finest silk. It’s medium-bodied with precise and focused fruit and an endless finish. The exceptional harmony of this young wine makes you want to drink it. James Suckling
An elegant nose, a complex bouquet of red fruits (raspberry, redcurrant, berries) and mineral notes (pencil lead). On the palate, the attack is full of finesse, the caressing texture is structured by elegant tannins. With no bitterness, lots of brightness and a pure finish. A favourite of ours. 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot
