Vosne-Romanée Les Jachées Bizot (Domaine) 1998

La «cuvée»

This is a wine reputed for the true emotion is evokes. After some years in the cellar (which we strongly recommend), the wine unveils notes of black fruits, venison and wood. At once powerful and silky, dense and delicate, this bottle is the result of sterling work. The proof of this is in the stages of meticulous vinification such as bottling by hand. A fine wine.

Domaine Bizot is a very small property: three cuvées are made from a mere 1.7 hectares of vineyards in the Vosne-Romanée appellation. Jean-Yves Bizot lives in the street where Henri Jayer used to live and he uses his techniques for his wines; fermentation at low temperature in truncated wooden vats, for example. Bizot wines are bottled by hand, barrel by barrel, without filtration.
