Log on to Zoom and join iDealwine in conversation with general manager and oenologist Philippe Guigal, who will guide the tasting and take guests on a (virtual) journey through some of the most famous vines in the Côte Rôtie appellation, including the legendary La Las - La Landonne, La Mouline, La Turque.

What’s included?
By purchasing the tasting kit, you will gain access to the virtual event, hosted by iDealwine via Zoom. You will hear all about the past and present of the château and its wines, the winemaking approach and philosophy of Guigal – all from its general manager and oenologist Philippe Guigal. We will then move on to the best part, the tasting. The event will last approximately 1 hour and will be followed by a Q&A.

La bodega Guigal
★ Bodega asociadaen 1923, Étienne Guigal, llegó a Ampuis, cuna de los vinos de Côte-Rôtie, con tan solo 14 años. Años más tarde, en 1946, fundó el domaine Guigal que ha contribuido al auge de la denominación Côte-Rôtie. En 1961, su hijo, el joven Marcel Guigal, tomó las riendas de la bodega a la vera de su padre, aquejado de una repentina ceguera total. Hoy día, Philippe Guigal, hijo de Marcel, brillante enólogo y orgulloso representante de la tercera generación ha asumido el relevo.
El viñedo se extiende por todas las prestigiosas denominaciones del valle del Ródano: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Hermitage, Gigondas y Crozes-Hermitage. Todas ellas se vinifican y se crían en las bodegas de Ampuis. Se presta una atención especial a todas las tareas vitivinícolas: tratamientos ecológicos (con certificación HVE), trabajo manual en su totalidad debido a la pendiente de las parcelas, vinificación en tanques en acero inoxidable termoregulados, crianza en barricas de roble nuevas (hasta 42 meses para algunas añadas) para permitir que el vino potencie plenamente sus aromas, etcétera. La bodega produce tres cuvées «prestige» —La Landonne, La Mouline y La Turque—, un tríptico sublime muy codiciado por los apasionados de la Côte-Rôtie.
En materia de patrimonio, esta bodega ilustre también relumbra: su sede social se encuentra en el Château d’Ampuis, una joya del Renacimiento protegida como Monumento Histórico. La casa Guigal es una de las más emblemáticas del valle del Ródano y destaca por su regularidad inquebrantable y su rigor en lo que respecta al abastecimiento de uva.
