Valais Ermitage Christophe Abbet 2020

This Ermitage cuvée is produced from terraced vineyards, set against a hillside in limestone soils. Produced using a single variety of Marsanne, this wine is the work of the talented Christophe Abbet, nicknamed “the wizard of Martigny”.
The harvests are carried out by hand and the use of indigenous yeasts underlines the attention to detail taken at each stage of the vinification process. The grapes are vinified using a traditional method in stainless steel tanks which helps to preserve its authenticity.
This is a wine of incredible scope, offering a complex and intense aromatic bouquet, blending notes of candied fruits, quince, apricot, honey, acacia and white truffle. On the palate, there’s a wonderful energy, richness and a smooth texture. There is a perfect balance between freshness and acidity resulting in a remarkable length.
